Junior golf 
GettingInto Golf at Kirtlington 

Hi All, 

With February Half Term coming up we have someexcellent opportunities and great ways to keepthe youngsters entertained during the schoolholidays and hopefully encourage more youngpeople into golf. 

For complete beginners we are offering free clubhire which is available from the Pro Shop withour Blenheim nine-hole course the ideal placefor a beginner or novice to make the transitionfrom the driving range to the fairways.

We are currently promoting Junior Golf aroundOxfordshire in both Primary and SecondarySchools and looking to increase juniorparticipation at the club with open fun days andcompetitions later in the year. 

If you have grandkids or youngsters that mightbe interested why not bring them along to enjoythis offer and introduce them into golf.

Junior TGB Golf Academy

In just over a month's time on Sunday March 20thwe are hosting The Junior TGB Golf Academy andElite Tours. 

Blenheim 9 Hole Course (Academy Tour) open toall juniors under the age of 15 without anofficial handicap. First Tee Time from 10:30am @£5 per person for club members. 

Main 18 Hole Course (Elite Tour) Open to anyoneunder the age of 21 with an officialhandicap. First Tee Time from 12:00pm @ £10 perperson for club members.

Date for your diary

NextFriday, 19 February we have theJunior 3 Club Challenge from 10:30am. In thefirst Junior Termly Stableford of 2016 onSaturday the winner was Leon Sladewith 37 points, followed in second place by DeclanKip on 32 Points and in thirdplace was Isabel Edwardswith 31 points. 

Here in the Pro Shop we have the US KIDSUltimate Fitting Centre so we can fit everyyoung player. Stocking a DV-1 driver demo inevery size from 39 to 63 inches in height makingit easy to find the right size and ensuring aproper fit year after year. 

US KIDS currently have an offer Buy 5 Clubs getyour 6th FREE! This Free club can be an iron orputter, (other clubs available for an additionalfee).

Ladies section 

Hello ladies, 

While we're all waiting for this awful weatherto improve here are a few dates for your diary: 

The first ladies friendly match of the seasonwill be held at Bicester on Tuesday,22nd March. These matches are greatfun and a good way to meet ladies from otherclubs so please try and support if you can.Details will be up on the noticeboard shortly,contact Jan for details

The first ladies social evening will be on Thursday7th April, probably a meal inSummertown, look out for the details on thenoticeboard. Everyone welcome! Contact Sarah fordetails

The next trophy competition will be the VictorLudorum played over 2 days on 12th and15th March. This is open to any ladywho has won a competition between 1st February2015 and 31st January 2016. Contact any memberof the committee for details

Tuesday, 5th April is the datefor the Debbie Kim Decanter trophy and you'llneed 2 pre qualifying cards to take part. Coretee times 9.30 to 10.00. Contact Elaine fordetails 

Finally just a reminder to support the Eclecticcompetition if you can which runs twice a yearfrom 1st December to 31st May & 1stJune to 30th November. It costs just£3 and after paying for a voucher for thewinner, the money is used to send flowers whenany of our ladies are ill and maintain thefacilities in the ladies changing rooms so aworthwhile cause! 

In the Ladies EWGA Medal on Tuesday saw 8participants, with the overall winner and lowestgross score being Valerie Eadle with a gross 77,in second place was Margaret Moggridge with agross 80 and in third place was Linda Breakerwith a gross 84.

Competition news 

Weekend Stableford

Considering the terrible weather conditions lastweekend we once again saw fantastic numberstaking part in the weekend medal with 58entrants in total. The overall winner with aNett 66 was Brian Lee,with the runner up Andy Enserposting a Nett 67 and in third was SteveBeahan with a Nett 69. 

Divisional results were as follows: 

Division 1 - 1st Steve BeahanNett 69, 2nd and with the Lowest Gross MartinCross Nett 69 and 3rd DerekThomas Nett 72 

Division 2 - 1st Brian LeeNett 66, 2nd Andy EnserNett 67 and 3rd Graham BrownNett 70

This week we go into more depthcovering greenside etiquette and getting itright on and around the green. Much time can bewasted on and around the greens by leaving bagsin the wrong place or marking cards when othersare waiting to play in.
