Hi All,
As we approach Christmas it's been another fun packed and busy week at the club. On Saturday we held our first Winter Open of the season with 45 players taking part, on Sunday we had our Captains Drive In Competition which was a great festive occasion attended by well over 50 in total.
This was followed by the Junior Trophy Presentation, Christmas Raffle Draw with Tea Party and the visit of Santa.
On Monday we staged the Jack FM Christmas Texas Scramble in aid of Helen and Douglas House Hospice supported by 15 teams taking part in the day.
We even managed to schedule a staff Christmas Night out last Thursday!
We begin this week's newsletter with results from our December Winter Open.
December Winter Open
It was fantastic to see a total of 45 players braving the rain and taking part in our first Winter Open of the Season, a big thank you to both Graham Fullagar and Jon Edwards for their help with the scoring for members and visitors on Master Scoreboard.
Of the 45 players this was made up of gents, ladies and juniors with 32 Members and 13 Visitors, resulting in some excellent Voucher Prizes.
Members Voucher
Prizes ranged from £55 for the winner, £40 for second place and £27 for third!
In the Visitor category this was £27 for the winner with £15 for second place and £10 for third.
Members Top 3 were as follows:
1st Tom Stevens 41 Pts, 2nd Peter Newin 40 Pts and 3rd Mike Thompson
Visitors Top 3 were as follows:
1st Philip McIntyre (Tewkesbury GC) 44 Points, 2nd Marc O'Leary (Magnolia Park GC) 36 Points and 3rd Brian Wheeler (Burford GC) 35 Points.

Jack FM Christmas Texas Scramble in aid of Helen & Douglas House Hospice Thanks to all these teams along with sponsors on the day, all proceeds raised throughout the day going to Helen & Douglas House Hospice.
Following the golf and before the 3 course Christmas Dinner Oxford Magician Sam Strange once again entertained the golfers with his many tricks and wizardry skills!
Some great scores were posted with the top 3 teams being:
1st ISIS Rescue - Nett 55.2, 2nd Speedcut - Nett 56.4 and 3rd Santa's Little Helpers (Dave Titcombe) - Nett 57.2

Captain's Drive In - Sunday 11 December
A fantastic day was had at the club on Sunday as the New Captain's drove in followed by the visit of Father Christmas.

Great fun was had by all and the best of luck to our new Captains.
Seniors Stableford
On Thursday, 8 December a total of 70 Seniors braved poor early conditions and played in the monthly Stableford. Later starters had the best of the conditions and the majority of the good scores came then.
Graham Kelly had the lowest gross score with 77 posting 40 points and winning Division 1 on countback from Ian Gordon.
Stuart Rose had the best score of the day with 41 points winning Division 2.
Results were:
Div 1 1st Graham Kelly 40 Pts (cb), 2nd Ian Gordon 40 Pts and 3rd Geoff Smailes 39pts
Div 2 1st Stuart Rose 41 Pts, 2nd Peter Wood 40 Pts and 3rd Mike Ashmore 38Pts
