ACE!!!

We begin this week with congratulations MargaretMoggridge who achieved a Holein 1 on the 134 yard Par 3 4th hole in theLadies Stableford back on Sunday,18 December. 

Resulting in a more expensive round of drinksthan usual in the Spike Bar after the round!

Weather

Over the festive period we had a mix of allweather conditions from thick fog to somebeautiful frosty crisp mornings over the festiveperiod.

Competition News 

A number of competitions and roll-ups wereplayed over the last few weeks here are theupdates on the winners: 

On a very wet New YearsDay Roll-Upthis was won by Stan Greenwith 37 points. The Boxing DayCompetition saw 20 playersparticipating enjoying mulled wine and mincepies after golf. Mark Elliswas the winner with 40 points. 

In the final competition before Christmas the MidweekStableford Bashon Wednesday, 21 December saw 30 players takingpart. This was won by Gerry Shawwith 40 Points followed in second place by TomStevens on 39 points and inthird was Tony Whitlockalso on 39 points. 

In the Gents WeekendPar/Bogey onSaturday 18th & Sunday 19th 74 playersparticipated with some great scores beingposted. 

Divisional winners were as follows: 

Div 1: 1st Richard Kershaw7Up, 2nd Anton Vircavs6 Up and 3rd Clive Dickenson4 Up 
Div 2: 1st Peter Mills3 Up, 2nd Lawrence Whitney3 Up and 3rd Tony Perella3 Up

Ladies Section

The Weekend Stableford 17th/18th this was won byMargaret Moggridge with 38 points followed insecond place by Maggie Day with 24 Points.Ladies Stableford on Tuesday 20th saw 15 playerstaking part with the winner being MarilynRichardson with an excellent 42 points followingin second place by Gill Lodge on 33 Points. 

Winter Pairs Update 

All matches to be played by 15/01/2017. Pleaseremember to complete a result slip and place inthe score card box in the Pro Shop. Looking atsome of the leagues it is going to go right downto the final games and could even come down toF/A difference!

Seniors Report 

Senior Texas Scramble 

Inthe pre- Christmas Texas Scramble there was arecord turnout of seniors. Played as a fourplayer group competition the overall winners ofthe main meat-prize were ChrisBasson, GrahamFord, Gerry Shawand Michael Walker.

The draw held on the day raised over 3350 forcharity and Seniors funds, thank you to everyonewho supplied prizes. Finally a big thank you toLarry Blackwell and Stuart Weston who providedthe meat prizes.

Seniors November Medal 

On Thursday 22nd December a total of 48 seniorstook part in the monthly Medal. Glen Marshallposted the lowest gross with a score of 76 whichgave him a nett score of 67 which although thiswas the best score Glen lost the competition oncountback.
