Modernising Golf's Rules
Last week the R&A proposed some key changesto the Rules of Golf from 2019. Their RulesModernisation initiative has been underway for afew years now and this is the next stage in thatprocess. The aim is to not only make the Ruleseasier to understand, but also to address someof the game's current problems, such as speed ofplay, and ensure they fit the needs of today'sgame.

Charity is the big theme this week withsome great causes being raised for!
On Thursday myself and Pam visitedHelen & Douglas House to present a cheque asa donation from the club with all the JACK FMOxford team who were presenting as Helen andDouglas House FM.
We were both very moved by visiting Helen House,meeting the staff and seeing the facilities.
It really brings home the amazing work they doand how important they are for all the childrenand families that need their help. At the end of#DIGDEEP campaign Jack FM raised an incredible £51,038!

This week the greenkeepers have been busycarrying out the Spring Maintenance work. Theyhave scarified (at 7mm) and hollow tined at thebeginning of the week followed by seeding androlling.
Crow Scarers
Please be aware that the Greenkeepers are usingcrow scarers at present due to the crow activityon and around the greens. These are being movedaround the course each day.
Gents Weekend Medal
In the Gents Weekend Medal on Saturday3rd & Sunday 4th the weather had a big part toplay across the weekend with 46 playersparticipating - those playing on the Saturdaymorning capitalising on the more favourableconditions. The overall winner in Division 3 withan incredible Net 62 by Paul Hutchings.
Jack Stevens followed up his lowest gross score inthe Midweek Medal by shooting a 74 and winning thelowest Gross at the weekend.

Senior Stableford
On Thursday 9 March, 62 seniors took part in themonthly Stableford. After the ravages of StormDoris the previous week the seniors still had tocontend with very windy conditions, particularlythe early starters. Graham Kelly mastered theconditions the best producing the low round of 77,five shots better than anyone else.
He also won Division 1 with 38 points with StuartWeston winning Division 2. Full results were:
