JuniorOxford League

Some fantasticgolf on Sunday here at the golf club sawCotswolds Club Chipping Norton lift theGeorge Gale Cup and Kirtlington Golf Clubwin the Smedley Shield.

Well done to ourwinning Kirtlington Team comprising ofDeclan Kip playing in his final JuniorCompetition for the club, Izy Edwards &Huw Jones. Also well done to our otherjuniors that took part including MarkosCarr, Jamie Rawal, Leon Slade and BeauSpencer.

It was great tosee so many juniors visiting from all overthe county including Burford, Carswell,Cotswolds Club, Drayton Park, FrilfordHeath, North Oxford, Tadmarton and alsoLincoln

Haveyou ever played our 19th hole?

Here is the 19th holelocated just to the right of the 1st tee and behindthe 9th Green on the main course. A great little Par 3measuring approximately 80 yards over the pond to afantastic USGA style green which will certainlychallenge your short game!

Not only has this but italso has a number of tricky pot bunkers around thegreen as well to practice those tough sand shots!Ifyou’ve not played it before I would certainlyrecommend it!

On Tuesdayit was the Ladies Grecian Greensomes with 8 teamstaking part.

Welldone to the winning pair of Sandra Chamberlain &Linda Walton with an excellent Nett 67, in secondplace was Margaret Moggridge & Judith Carr and inthird place with the lowest gross (79) was ValerieEadle & Jackie Thompson Nett 69.

Seniors September Stableford

On Thursday 7th September atotal of 60 seniors took part in themonthly Stableford. In favourable conditions a thirdof the players scored below their handicap and the CSSwas 68. The best nett result was from Les Holmes whocarded 44 points to win 2nd Division whilst KevinCrumell carded the best gross score of 74. FullResults were: -

Division 1: 1st - RobinWyatt (43), 2nd - Kevin Crumell (41), 3rd - RegMitchell (40)

Division2: 1st - Les Holmes (44), 2nd - Geordie Mawson (42),3rd - Trevor Roberts (40)

SeniorsAway Tadmarton Heath

This year’s Seniors Away daytook place at Tadmarton Heath Golf Clubwith 38 seniors taking part. An individual Stablefordcompetition was held along with a team (4)competition. The very challenging conditions of strongwinds and heavy squally downpours made scoringdifficult on this tight golf course. Ian Walton wasthe only to play better than handicap and he won theAway Day trophy. Full results were: -

Individual 1st Ian Walton37pts 2nd Al Cubley 35pts 3rd Glen Marshall 32 pts.

Nearestthe pin prize was won by Bob Thiele.
