SeniorsQuiz Night

On Friday 3rdNovember the Clubhouse was full of peopletrying to match peoples known names to theirreal name, remember Prime Ministers back to1721, and relive 60’s and 70’s music at theSeniors Quiz Night. A total of ten teamscompeted, made up of players from allsections of the club, and the overallwinners were Jocks Away, a team made upmainly from ex-pat Scots.

The team includedclub members Graham Kelly, John Barr, EddieBirney, Steve Beahan (One Eyed Jocks)amongst others with runners-up theLatecomers led by Colin Proffitt.

In the past week we have hada number of reported incidents of Crows stealing golfballs on the front 9 of the course!

If it isknown or virtually certain that a player's ball atrest has been moved by an outside agency, no penaltyis incurred and either the original ball or anotherball must be replaced at the spot that the ball wasmoved from, Rule 18-1.

The Junior Girls flying theflag for Kirtlington at Burford Golf Club on Thursday27th October!

Winnerof the Nicola Sparks Memorial Trophy was EllieMitchell with 43 Points followed by Izy Edwards in 2ndplace with 39 points!

In the NovemberWeekend Medal we once again saw over 100players taking part (103 in total) Saturday18 players (CSS 69) Sunday 85 players (CSS70). The overall winner on countback wasRichard Kershaw with a Nett 66.

Last Friday Kirtlington GolfClub hosted the final of the Ladies Bamberger knockout competition which was played between MaggieFindlay of Oxford Golf Club & Karen Harris ofFrilford Heath Golf Club refereed by Barbara Round.The winner in a close encounter on the 16th hole wasMaggie Findlay from Oxford Golf Club. Well done to allthose that took part.
