Hi All, 

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine - a bigcontrast to last week! 

This week is the start of the Euro 2016Championships - matches will be on livethroughout the day in the Clubhouse spike bar,which will be open until around 10pm to enjoy adrink before or after your round. 

We have lots of club news and results to updateyou on this week along with spot the flag!

Charity Day Success

On the 12th May the Kirtlington Open in aid ofBreast Cancer Hope managed to raise anincredible £6,100! That is nowover £18,000raised by Ian Swash and hisGolf day in aid of both Breast Cancer andChildren's Cancer charities in the last 5 years.Congratulations to Ian and everyone that tookpart.

Join StanGreen and sign up to this year's 2016Captains Day on Saturday, 25 June. The sign-upsheet and prize draw can be located in thecorridor (pictured). 

Stableford Competition 

Open to Ladies, Gents, & Juniors, WithPutting & Chipping Competitions Cost £10 PerPerson - including food

Morland Trophy Sponsored by Green King 

This Sunday we have the Morland Trophy takingplace with core times 7am-9am. Ladies &Gents Mixed Qualifier Prizes For: Overall NettRunner Up Gents, Ladies, Junior (depending onentrants). Entry Sheet in Main Corridor, £3entry.

Club Championship 

Sign-up sheets are now up for the ClubChampionship to be played Saturday 9th / Sunday10th July. £5Entry (closing date isSunday 3rd July @ 12pm).

June Roll-up (Seniors)

This is on June 16th - start 9.00am (sign in by8.45 am) - sign-up sheet on the Noticeboard.

Competition news 

In the Midweek Medal last Wednesday you wouldstruggle to believe that it was the first day ofsummer! With the poor conditions and somefair-weather golfers posting NR's this pushedthe Standard Scratch up to 71 by the 38 playerstaking part. Despite this BarryReynolds was the clear winner with aNett 66, followed in second place by MikePrice Nett 69 and in third was PeteMilton with a Nett 70. RaffeKennedy, returning to the club,posted the lowest gross of 76. 

The weekend medal thankfully delivered somegreat summer conditions at last seeing 90players taking part. The clear winner by 3 shotswas Martin Cross with a Nett64 and the Lowest Gross with a superb 69!Divisional results were as follows: 

Div 1: 
- 1st - Martin Cross(Nett 64) - 2nd - Guilio Viglieno(Nett 66) - 3rd - Leon Slade(Nett 68) 

Div 2: 
- 1st - Peter Mills(Nett 67) - 2nd - Ben Crumell(Nett 70) - 3rd - Gary Willoughby(Nett 70) 

Div 3: 
- 1st - David Musson(Nett 68) - 2nd - Andy Haines(Nett 68) - 3rd - James Daulton(Nett 68)

Senior section 

Seniors May Medal 

On Thursday 26th May a total of 59 seniors tookpart in the monthly Medal.. In a low scoringcompetition the best result was posted byDivision 2 winner Derek breakerwith a net 63. Full Results were: 
Div. 1 
- 1st Dave Mitchell (82 - 1765) - 2nd Colin Walters (76 -10 66) - 3rd Kevin Crumell (76- 10 66) 

Div. 2 
- 1st Derek Breaker (90 - 2763) - 2nd Laurie Welford(86 - 21 65) - 3rd Phil Jackson(90 - 24 66) 

Senior Club Matches 

With the absence of the Senior Captain who wasenjoying the balmy weather of the ScottishIslands and Highlands, as well as Vice-Captain LarryBlackwell recovering from a hipreplacement operation, two ex-captains steppedup to take over in Senior Matches. 

ChrisMcNulty captained the away match atNaunton Down which resulted in a 4 - 2 victorywhich was the first time we had defeated Nauntonat their own venue. He then captained the Seniorside in their annual match against the Ladiesfor the Blake Trophy, which resulted in anhonourable draw 3 - 3. The Shaw familywere the stars with Jane and Gerrywinning their respective matches. 

Gerry Shaw captained the homematch against Feldon Valley which resulted in a6 - 0 victory for Kirtlington. Congratulationsto all who played in this match.
