Club news 

Welcome to another edition of the KGCNewsletter, this week we have the results of ourJunior Club Championships, along with news oftwo of our juniors representing the club inrecent national competitions. 

We also have competition updates, furtherupcoming events along with our Pro Shop featuredbrand of the week. 

Junior championships

Well done to all the juniors that took part intheir Club Championships on Sunday afternoon. 

The overall gross winner was GregorMcKenzie with a Final Score of77, followed in second place by ElishaGujralwith a Gross 83. In the Nett score category thiswas won by Marcos Carrwith a Nett 66 to go alongside his Nett Scorevictory in the Men's Club Championships held 3weeks ago! 

In second place was Elisha Gujralwith a Nett 69.

Two junior members representing our clubrecently in national competitions include IzzyEdwards and GregorMcKenzie.

Last week Izzy Edwardsparticipated in the English Girls' U16 OpenAmateur Stroke Play Championship at theNottinghamshire GC. 

After 36 holes Izzy finished tied 63 out of 96players 

A great performance scoring -3 Nett in the firstround and -6 Nett after the second round. 

Gregor McKenzieis our lowest handicap player here at the clubcurrently off of a handicap of 1.8 has also beenparticipating in a number of National Eventsincluding the English U16 McGregor Cup at RoyalAshdown Forest GC and the Scottish Boys U16 OpenStroke Play Championships finishing in 23rdposition.

Well done to the GTR 9-Hole Texas ScrambleWinners on Wednesday evening - Team Captain GrahamFullagar, PeteMilton & CliveDickenson with a Net 30! 

Thanks to everyone that took part and being sowell supported, the golf was followed by anexcellent buffet. A great success!!! 

In the ladies EWGA Medal on Tuesday, 26 August 

Sandra Chamberlain was the clear winner by 8shots with a Nett 63 and also the lowest gross(86). 

In second place was Elaine Hunt with a Nett 71and in third was Linda Walton with a Nett 74.

Inthe Spike Bar you can find the sign-up sheetsfor the Merv Hunt Trophycoming up on Sunday August 14th. This is anIndividual Stableford open to Ladies, Gents& Juniors. 

Seniors Report 

Seniors August Stableford 

On Monday, 1 August a total of 71seniors took part in the monthly Stableford. Ina low scoring competition (18 players were undernett par) which produced a close result GrahamKelly having a gross score of 76 and carding 41points produced the best overall score.

Senior Club Matches - after losing narrowly away(3.5 - 2.5) away to Carswell earlier in theseason the Seniors gained revenge with a 4 - 2victory under the captaincy of vice skipperLarry Blackwell. 

Kirtlington winners werePete M/ John W, GrahamF/Ian G, Brian L/ Gerry S and Stuart W/ John D,the latter pair achieving the double against theopposition.

Senior Away Day - 12 September

The sign- up sheet for this will soon be on theboard - the subsidised cost will be £34 toinclude Bacon Roll and Coffee on arrival, 18holes of Golf with individual and team prizesand a one course meal after the game.
