Hi All, 

I hope you have are all having a great week andenjoying all the sport with the Olympics nowunderway. In this week's newsletter we have newsof a Gold Medal Performance from one of ourJunior Members, Club Roll Up and volunteersneeded, Competition News, the new HOLE19 GolfApp and the Srixon Ball Fitting Day Experienceon Wednesday. 

TheSrixon Ball Fitting Experience 

Many thanks to Srixon Professional MartinConner and those that attendedthe Srixon Ball Fitting Experience

It was a great success with all 20 minutesessions being filled between the 4pm and 7pmslots with an additional 4 slots having to beadded at the end to fit more players in! 

   

Everyone that used this gave excellent feedbackand all said how interesting it was to see thetechnology and how this could improve theirgame. 

Those taking part in also took advantage of theFree Glove when they brought a Dozen Golf Ballson the day! 

Something we will certainly look to arrangeagain in the future.

Gregor is Victorious 

Gregor McKenzie has continued his recent fineform and was victorious in the BB&O U15 andU16 Championships on Monday at theBuckinghamshire and came 3rd in the U18's. Afterthese two rounds his handicap went down to 1!

Club Roll Ups & Volunteers required 

If you would like a social game of golf to meetnew people & members or even to get ahandicap card marked come along and join one ofthe club roll ups. The dates are below; pleaseadd your name to the signup sheets which can befound at Reception in the Pro Shop.

Competition news 

Midweek Medal
 

The Midweek Medal last Wednesday was played inblustery conditions making scoring tough withthe standard scratch going up to 70. 

The runaway leader with a superb Nett 66 and thelowest Gross (70) of the day was RathKennedy. In second place was CliveMoggridge with a Nett 67 and inthird was Gary QuaintonNett 70. 

A total of three 2's were posted on the usuallytough Par 3 11th Hole this included SamChick, Marc Jordonand Clive Moggridge

In the Weekend Medal the conditions over the twodays were very contrasting with Saturday provingthe better day with SS at 68 and the return ofthe blustery winds on the Sunday with the SSgoing up to 69. 

The overall winner was Tom Stevenswith an excellent Nett 64. 

Divisional top 3 results were as follows:

The Kirtlington Gents losttheir game 3 ½ to 1 ½ against Ivanhoe Golf Clubon Saturday. 

Ladies Section 

On Tuesday the 9th the Ladies Stableford was wonon countback by Marilyn Richardsonwith 37 Points followed in second place by JanKavanagh 37 Points and in thirdplace also on 37 Points was LindaWalton

In the Ladies EWGA Medal last Tuesday this waswon by Margaret Moggridgewith a Nett 73 followed in second place by JackieThompson also with a Nett 73and the Lowest Gross (85) 

Seniors News 

Senior Club Matches - the Seniors have playedtwo matches in the last week that have producedvery close results. 

Against Waterstock at home on Thursday, 4 Julythe match ended in a 3 - 3 draw with wins for Clarrie/ChrisM, Gerry S/Mike Band Stuart W/ Jim D

Playing Drayton on Monday, 8 August Kirtlingtonlost 3.5 - 2.5. The match went down to the lasthole with Jim Lodgeand Phil Jacksonleading their match by one hole which was goodenough to get the draw. 

Unfortunately the Drayton won the hole thushalving this match and ensuring overall victoryfor the away team. Kirtlington winners were Clarrie/NormanK and Chris M/ Mike B

August Roll-up 

The next roll up is on Monday, 15 August-sign-up sheet on the Noticeboard. 

Senior Away Day - 12 September

The sign- up sheet is now on the board - thesubsidised cost will be £34to include Bacon Roll and Coffee on arrival, 18holes of Golf with individual and team prizesand a one course meal after the game.
