Fromstrength to strength

This week marks one year since the Pro Shopjoined forces with Foremost Golf, a great dealhas changed in the past year, including theintroduction of many new brands andinitiatives. 

New brands including US Kids Golf which with thehelp of our PGA Professional AndyTaylor has proved extremelypopular and an area we hope to continue togrow. 

Motocaddy Electric Trolleys and Rental ElectricTrolleys available to hire, the recent arrivalof Srixon Clubs & Cleveland Wedges, MastersStarter Sets, our FootJoy shoe service fittingarea, multi-buy offers with regular promotionsplus the capability of being able to order initems that we do not have in store. 

As well as this we now have the 5%discount for all memberswhen they purchase anything in the Pro Shop withtheir member's card. Plus our recently launchedeBay Shop helping you to move on any of your oldunwanted items that we can sell for you and thenadd the money to your Members Card to be usedanywhere in the Clubhouse!

We also now have our own shop website our Click & Collect Service and havehosted a number of successful fitting days withone coming up again next month, you can clickhere to book your Free slot on Friday, 14October from 2pm - 6pm for the Srixon ClubFitting Day.

Competition results 

Gent's Elite Challenge 

On Saturday the 36 hole Gent's Elite Challengetook place in some very challenging conditions.The Winner of the Gross was - RafeKennedy with 80 + 74 for a 154Total. 

The Nett Winner was Marcos Carrwith Nett 76 + 63 for a total of 139. 

Septembermidweek medal

In the September Midweek Medalthis was won by Marc Jordonwith a Nett 65 followed in 2nd place by ChrisMcNulty Nett 66 and in 3rd BillKeys Nett 66. 

The lowest Gross of the day was LeoKennedy with a 73. 

Kirtlington Crystal Mixed

On Sunday the KirtlingtonCrystal Mixedtook place with: 

The Men played Cotswold GC on Saturday Losing3-2 
A Barraclough & D Musson Won 5&4 
S Green & K Pyke Halved 
P Mills & L Slade Halved 
T Graham & M Ellis Lost 1 Down 
A Enser & A Chick Lost 6&5 

Recent Summer Match Play Results 

A number of finals have taken place in the pastfew weeks, congratulations to all the winnersand also well done to those who took part.

- Derek Thomas was victorious in the GentsScratch Match Play KO defeating Martin Cross.
- Andy Haines won the Gents Summer Singles KOdefeating David Musson.
- Kevin Pyke & Lee Parson beat John &Martin Cross in the Gents Foursome KO
- Linda & Ian Walton beat Giulio Viglieno& Elaine Hunt in the Mixed Pairs Summer KO

Seniors section 

There is still time to enter the SeniorsPairs Open on Wednesday, 5 October -Members are priced at just £40per pair, closing date for entries is 2 weeksbefore on Wednesday, 21 September,entry forms can be found on the table in themain corridor. 

September Stableford

On Thursday, 8 September a total of 70 seniorstook part in the monthly Stableford. Thecompetition was the last in the best 5 from 7Stableford Competition which produced a closeoverall result with Chris McNultywinning the 5 from 7 Stableford trophy.

Senior Away Day 12th September- This year's Seniors Away day took place atWychwood Golf Club with 32 seniors taking part. 

An individual Stableford competition was heldalong with a team (4) competition. 

The Individual completion was won by MikeLisseter and the Captains Teamof Clarrie, ChrisMyall, Mike Lisseterand Dave Mussonwon the team prize. 

Full results were: - 1st MikeLisseter 36pts 2nd AlCubley 36pts 3rd BrianLuker 36pts (cb.) Nearest thepin prizes were won by Al Cubleyand Brian Luker 

Senior Club Matches

The seniors have played two matches recently. 

Against Cherwell Edge 5 matches went to the lastgreen with 3 of them halved. 

Final Score was 3.5 to 2.5 to Cherwell Edge withChris M/Pete F being theKirtlington winners. 

Against Studley Wood away the team struggled asis usual on this course. The result was 5 - 1 toStudley with John D/Clarrie winning the captainsmatch. 

September Roll-up 

This is on September 19th - start 9.00am (signin by 8.45 am) - sign-up sheet on the Noticeboard - this month it takes the form of a TexasScramble. Senior Away Day 12th September - thelist of tee times are now on the board, payment(£34) to the treasurer Stuart Walton

Srixon club fitting day 

Wehave Srixon at Kirtlington on Friday, 14October. 

They will be bringing with them all their latestequipment. So far they have had some fantasticreviews and their equipment has been producingsome amazing stats in swing studio's across thecountry.
