Senior Pairs Open Success
Hope you have all had a great week both on andoff the course, the Ryder Cup was not quite theoutcome many of us were hoping for with the USAwinning comfortably in the end - it was still afantastic event and certainly not short ofentertainment, controversy and talking pointsalong the way!
Here at the club it has been another busy weekwith plenty going on. In this newsletter we havesome new dates to add to your diary for threeupcoming individual winter opens in December,January and February!
There is the latest competition news andresults, the Senior Report from Clarrie alongwith slots still available for a FREE 30 minuteSrixon Club Fitting Experience on Friday, 14October, we start this week's addition with theSenior Pairs Open.
A huge thank you to you all that attended - itwas fantastic to see so many new and returningvisitors along with so many of our memberssupporting this event. This year we saw recordnumbers attending with 40 teams (80 players)taking part, this was 10 more than last year andfantastic to see this event growing year onyear!
There was some fantastic scoring for both theMembers and Visitors sections!
Members Section - 19 Teams participated with theteam of Chris McNulty& Mike Pricevictorious with 43 points- this was the thirdtime in six years so a big well done to them!
In second place with 41 Points was JohnDuffin & KevinCrumell and in third place oncount-back with 39 points was PeteMilton & CliveDickenson.
Visitors Section - We had 21 teams participatingwith the team of Chris Lewis& Morian Lloydfrom Cherwell Edge GC with a very impressive 45Points, in second place with 41 Points were DavidMorris & TonyOwens from Bicester GC and inthird place with 40 Points was LesBrown & JoeKing from Oxford City GC.

Winter Open Dates
Announced Following the success of ourIndividual Winter Open Stableford at thebeginning of the year we have now added 3 ofthese to our calendar with the first one beingon Saturday 10th December with these all beingbook your own tee times.
We have kept the prices as low as possible andset this at just £5 for Adult Members and £3 forJunior Members.
Being able to have these Winter Opens on FullGreens and Tees offers a great opportunity toinvite along friends from other golf clubs tocome and play and test their handicap with thisbeing priced at just £20 for Adults and £10 forJuniors.
Included in the price is Tea/Coffee on arrivalwith the chance to win Voucher Prizes up tothird place with these to be posted out towinners or collected from the Pro Shop.
Finally after your round you have theopportunity to warm up with the Chefs Special ofthe day for just £6.

Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd Oct - TheMen's Weekend Medal saw 68 playerstaking part. The overall winner with a crackingscore of Nett 64 was Kevin Crumell followed insecond place on count-back by John McEachranNett 66 and Tom Stevens in Third.

Seniors September Medal
OnThursday 26th September a total of 57 seniorstook part in the monthly Medal. In thecompetition there were numerous low nett scoreswith Glen Marshall posting the lowest gross with75.
However the outstanding result was from MikeLisseter who score of 81resulted in a nett 62, the lowest score inSeniors Competition of the season.

The race for the Seniors Order of Merit wasdecided on Thursday with a very close race wonby Chris McNulty(123pts) winning by one point from RegMitchell with KevinCrumell a further pointbehind.
Kevin however won the best 5 from 7 Gross scoresin Medals with a total score of 391 winning by 5shots from Glen Marshallwith Graham Kellythird.

Senior vs Veterans
This annual match was played on Monday, 3October and the not so Veterans gained revengefor last year's whitewash by winning 4 -2.Congratulations to John Duffinand his team.
