Club news 

I hope you have had all had a great week both onand off the course.

It was a busy day on Sunday, 9 October with theDirectors Shield & Bowlalong with the Peter KennedyMemorial Trophy taking place. 

Directors Sheild

In the Directors Shield this was won by AntonVircavs who posted a Nett 66winning on count back to PeteMilton in second, in thirdplace was Tom O'Donavanwith a Nett 68. Lowest Gross was DerekThomas with a 74.

   

Welldone to the newest member of the Pro Shop Team SamChick who was the winner ofboth the Directors Bowl with the lowest gross of71 and also the Pete Kennedy Trophy with a Nett66. 

In second place on count-back was JamesSummers, and in third place wasGraham Kellywith a Nett 67.

British Masters 

Following last year's success of Ian Poulterhosting the British Masters at Woburn it is nowthe turn of Englishman Luke Donald hosting theevent at the Grove in Hertfordshire. 

In a tournament first a bumper crowd turned upat The Grove after dark to witness the HeroChallenge floodlit extravaganza on aspecially-constructed par-three on the 18th, inwhich eight leading professionals and fourcelebrities took part in a knock-out contest. 

Alex Levy wascrowned the champion while ShaneWarne took the spoils in thecelebrity event in an entertaining eveningbroadcast live on Sky Sports.

This had a great atmosphere and a real fun wayto kick off the week's golf.

Seniors Report 

Seniors October Stableford 

On Thursday 6th October a total of 68 seniorstook part in the monthly Stableford. In a lowscoring competition (22 players were under nettpar) the outstanding performance was from GrahamFullagar who won overall by 3 points with 44points.

Senior Club Matches

The Seniors Final match is this Thursday, can Ithank all those who have played this season - atotal of 45 in all. 

Senior AGM Wednesday, 9 November. 

The Senior AGM will take place on this date andit is hoped for a good turnout. 

This year as well as the presentation of medalseach winner of the monthly Medals and Stablefordwill receive certificates including those whohave donated to charity. 

Ladies Jessie's Bowl 

In the alternate singles stroke-play beingplayed on Saturday, 8 October or Tuesday, 11October. 

The overall winner was Jane Shawith a Nett 70, in second place was PamSale Nett 71 and in third placewas Sandra Chamberlain

Competition news 

Junior Open 

The club is extending the entry deadline to the18th (next Tuesday) and is also accepting ClubHandicap entries for an extra18 hole competitionon the day to run behind the main comp. 

Charity Golf Day 

On Friday, 7 October the Golf Club staged theMayor of Bicester Charity Golf Day in aid of theHummingbird Charity. 

It was a very successful event with lots ofmoney raised on the day from both the raffle andauction prizes. The winning team 'The Randoms'finished on 81 points with 2 of the 4 bestStableford scores counting.
