Central 7's Champions! 

Hi All, 

Hope you are having a great week and those ofyou on the half-term break are enjoying thefinal holiday before Christmas! We begin thisweek's newsletter with some fantastic news andcongratulations to Captain Duncan Cooper and hisGreen 7's team finishing the Central 7'sDivision 4 as Champions! This went to the finalmatch of the season with the team defeatingRadley to just edge out the Drayton 1 Team!Below is the final table: 

1st - Kirtlington Green
2nd - Drayton 1
3rd - Magnolia Park
4th - Bicester
5th - Radley

As well as winning the League, in the Order ofMerit for Division 4 Paul Sladecame top of this with 5 wins out of 5!

Kirtlington Junior Open 2016 

This year we had 16 players participating in ourjunior open plus alongside this we had a 2player mini tournament for those with noofficial handicaps. For the Main Open there weresome incredible scores being posted with HaruhiNakatini representing HendonGolf Club scoring 48 points! 

1st Haruhi Nakatani(Hendon GC) 48 Points 
2nd Lauren Berry(North Oxford) 44 Points 
3rd Louis Macpherson(Bicester) 44 Points 
4th Manato Nakatani(Hendon) 44 Points (Lowest Gross 72) 

Also a big well done to our Members IzyEdwards 41 Points, DeclanKip 41 Points and SachinGujral 32 Points.

Seniors Report 

October Roll-up

On Thursday, 20 October a total of 31 seniorstook part in the monthly roll-up. Thecompetition was won by who GeoffSmailes scored 41 points with IanTaylor and RayBrooks second on 38 points. 

Winners of the nearest the pin were GerryShaw and PeterFrench. The sheet for theNovember 17th roll-up is on the board- pleasesign up. 

Gerry's Birthday Bash - on Monday, 24 September45 Seniors, Ladies and Guests played in a TexasScramble to celebrate Seniors Secretary GerryShaw 70th birthday. 

A good day was had by all and in a low scoringcompetition the Guest Team of David Hughes,Alison and Jon Hewitt won with a net 58 closelyfollowed by Tony Whitlock,Diane and TonyBastable. 

Diane also won the ladies nearest the pin with ChrisBasson winning the mens. 

Seniors Tour Report 

The 4th Annual Tour of the Senior Section tookplace in Vilamoura, Portugal from 10th to 14thOctober. We stayed in the Dom Pedro Golf Hotelwhich was only five minutes walk from the marinain the centre of the town. 

We played the three courses - Laguna, Millenniumand Pinhal - all of which were only ten minutesdrive from the hotel. We enjoyed a mostconvivial holiday and the golf was challengingbut enjoyable. 

The eventual winner was Chris Basson, but thecompetition was decided on the final green, atwhich point Sid Houghton and Graham Fullagarwere also in contention. 

We are hoping to visit the same area next yearand would welcome some other members to joinus.

Ladies Competition

Results 

On Saturday 22nd October the EWGA Weekend Medalwas won by Jackie Thompsonwith a Nett 73 (Lowest Gross 82), in secondplace was Margaret MoggridgeNett 74 and in third place was ValEadle Nett 75. 

On Tuesday, 25 October it was the EWGA MidweekMedal, this was won by Val EadleNett 68, followed in second place by SharonBrown Nett 71 and in third wasJackie ThompsonNett 71 (Lowest Gross 80).

In order that the Committee may give fullconsideration to member's questions, you arerequested to submit these, in writing, no laterthan Sunday, 6 November 2016. 

Any questions raised on the night may bedeferred to full Committee. Any member may givenotice of his/her intention to propose a motionat the AGM. 

Such proposal(s) shall be sent to the Committeeby November 6 2016 and must be supported by atleast five (5) other members.

Your Committee needs You! 

New committee term starts in November 2016. Ifyou are interested in becoming part of thecommittee to help run competitions and handicapsthen please contact Pam or Stan to have a chat.

We don't need a lot of your time just a littlecommitment to help keep our competitions andsocial events running.
