Club news 

FamilyFun Day

It's been all action at the golf clubin the past week! We begin this edition with abig thank you to all who attended our Family FunDay Last Saturday.

We were delighted to welcome in excess of 100juniors to the event and seeing them have such agreat time and it was fantastic to hear suchgreat feedback from those that attended Onceagain.

Jon Edwards and the Junior Team were a greathelp and promoted the club excellently, alongwith the outstanding work from our volunteersMatt Gregor, Sandra Chamberlain and SueQuainton. The Kirtlington Open

LastThursday it was the Kirtlington Open and thefinal one being ran by Ian Swash in aid ofBreast Cancer Hope. On behalf of us all here atKirtlington Golf Club I would like to say a hugethankyou to Ian and the Swash-Hardie Family forall their hard work and efforts in establishingthis wonderful event along with all thevolunteers, partners and event sponsors andparticipants over the years and in the processraising in excess of £25,000for charity. Going forward the Kirtlington Openwill continue to be run by the Golf Club and weendeavour to keep the marvellous work goingraising money for worthy causes.

From the 28 Teams entered into this year's eventthe winning four ball on the day comprised ofour Greenkeepers Steve Hirons and Ollie Hemblemalong with Ollie Boys & Mark Essex. Welldone guys!

   
   
        

Junior news 

Juniors New team kit

Onthe Weekend before last it was the first outingfor the Juniors New Team Kit - thanks to thegenerous sponsor by Member Chris Kip and hiscompany Candleford Technology Assuranceproviding the junior team with polos and ZipNeck Sweatshirts. In the match against FrilfordHeath on the Blue Course it was a 3-0 loss butthe matches were really close two being lost on17 and the third on 18.

In the Junior Termly Stableford held on Saturdaythis was won by Izy Edwards with an impressive41 Points, Izy is now off 6.8 Handicap.


Seniors section 

Memorial Shield

Thisfoursomes competition is held yearly to rememberSenior members of the club who have passed on.This year we remembered Laurie Welford and hiswife and daughter Diana & Laura Welfordattended and presented the trophy. In windyconditions the main foursomes' competition waswon by Stuart Weston and David Musson who scored36 points.

Prior to the main competition a nine holecompetition on the Blenheim course was held(with very reduced handicaps). Winner was JimLodge who won on countback from Stuart Westonand Bob Theile.

Ladies section 

Weekend Stableford

In the Ladies Weekend Stableford thiswas won by Margaret Moggridge with 35 Points.

Charity Fundraisers Please Support!
