WinterOpen Series 2

Last weekend it was thesecond of our Winter Series Opens. For the first timewe ran this open across 2 days which proved verypopular. Total number across Saturday and Sunday was59 players.

On Saturday there were 26players that took part CSS 68 (38pts) and on Sunday 33player CSS 71 (35pts) with a big difference instandard scratch across the 2 days! On the Sunday wehad a total of 11 visitors take part from clubsincluding Aylesbury Vale, Buckingham, Cherwell Edge,Gaudet Luce Market Harborough, Newbold Comyn, Ross onWye, Saunton and Tadmarton.

The Top 3 in the MembersSection (48 players): 1st Peter Mills 40 Pts (£100 ProShop Vouchers) 2nd Mark Edgar 38 Pts (£50) 3rd LloydBrock (£25)

In thevisitors section we had 11 players taking part. Top 3were: 1st Robbie Wilson (Cherwell Edge GC) 39 Pts 2ndDavid Baxter (Saunton GC) 34 Pts 3rd Mark Wolton(Newbold Comyn GC) 33 Pts.

SeniorsAGM

On the Wed 8th Nov 2017 theSeniors Section AGM was held and was attended by 23members. Reports were given by the retiring SeniorsCaptain, Larry Blackwell, and from the Secretary andTreasurer. Larry referred to the successful season inthe matches, the greater participation of new membersin teams and the continued growth of the section.

Afterthe presentation for the Senior Medal and StablefordCompetitions the following were elected to serve onthe committee for 2017/18

SeniorsStableford

On Thurs 9th Nov a total of70 seniors played in the monthly Stableford. GlenMarshall scored the lowest gross with 74 but lost theDivision on countback to Les Holmes, both scoring 40points. This score was matched by Mike Price inwinning Division 2. Results were: -

FutureEvents

Texas Scramble – this annualevent is being held on Dec 11th. The meat prizes forthis event are provided by the Captain andVice-Captain and the light meal afterwards fromseniors funds. Please support the draw by providingprizes and buying tickets as proceeds from this are animportant source for the Charity donations from thesenior section. Signing up sheet is on the SeniorsBoard.

Ladies News

In theLadies Weekend Stableford on Saturday 11th &Sunday 12th there were 6 players taking part. 1stplace Valerie Eadle 27 Pts, 2nd Julie Hodges 26 Ptsand in 3rd Marilyn Richardson 24 Pts.
