It’stwo in a row for Leon Slade!

Big congratulations to LeonSlade winning the Kirtlington Junior ClubChampionships on Thursday for the second year in a rowwith a gross score of 76! In second place was MarkosCarr with a Gross 81.

Thewinner of the Nett prize was Richie Dawe Nett 65 2ndSachin Gujral Nett 68.

In theBlenheim 9 Hole Roll Up the winner was Josh Lloyd  andin 2nd place was Alex Watts. Nearest the Pin on 8thhole was Jimmy Roberts.

At the weekend the JuniorTeam played two matches against Tadmarton home andaway winning both of these!

On Saturday they were awaywinning 2-1. Winning teams were Leon Slade &Sachin Gujral 7&5 and Markos Carr & BeauSpencer 1Up.

OnSunday at home they won 3-0. Winning teams were MarkosCarr & Ritchie Dawe 4&2, Huw Jones & BeauSpencer 3&2 and Ellie Mitchell & Leon Slade 1Up.

On Saturday the scratch teamvisited Feldon Valley in the Knockout which was aGreensomes Format losing out 2 ½ - ½ with the team ofRichard Carr & Duncan Cooper gaining a half.

Mixed Competition

In the Merv Hunt Memorial onSunday 68 players took part raising funds for SkinCancer Research, thank-you to all the donations andentries into the charity draw. The top 3 Stablefordscores were: 1st Phil McIntyre 42 Pts 2nd Sean Glynn41 Pts (CB) 3rd Colin Walters 41 Pts (CB).

Gents MidweekStableford

In the Gent’s MidweekStableford there was a field of 43 players taking partwith a CSS of 38 Points on the day. Well done to ChrisMyall with an impressive 44 points with 4 birdies onthe back 9! Also well done to Lloyd Brock for hiseagle 2 on the 2nd Hole!

SeniorsMatches

There were two away matchesin the last week and these produced contrastingresults.

Against Radley the Seniorteam registered their third away victory of the yearwith all pairs contributing to the 5 – 1 victory.There were wins for Gerry Shaw/Simon Saxton, ClarrieHaynes/Laurie Bryant, Mike Lisseter/Graham Ford andDavid Musson/Trevor Roberts. The two mother matchesinvolving Stuart Weston/Roy Smith and Larry Blackwell/Geoff Smailes were halved. This result ensures theteam has produced its best series of away resultsever.

Althoughlosing to Magnolia Park 5 - 1 there were a number ofclose games which were lost on a course where wetraditionally struggle. Both the matches involving thecaptain (with Jim Darch) and the vice-captain(partnered by Roy Smith) were lost on the last holewhile Gerry Shaw/Trevor Roberts and Clarrie/LarryBlackwell both lost on the 17th.   In the othermatches Graham Fullagar/Mike Price lost 4 and 2 whilstPat Twynham returning to a course he was a member formany years partnered by Laurie Bryant had animpressive 6 and 5 victory

USKids Fun Day – Next Wednesday

The U.S Kids Fun Day was agreat success last year with over 60 juniors visitingthe event, playing games, entering competitions andenjoying the game of golf with their families!!
