In the annual Ryder Cupcompetition between Bicester and Kirtlington this waswon by the hosts Bicester 15-3 on Saturday. Thewinning players in the singles matches for Kirtlingtonin the afternoon were Graham Fullagar, Josh Berrie& Markos Carr.

Central Sevens Golf LeagueDivision 6: Kirtlington Blue were home to North Oxfordon Saturday winning this 4 ½ to 2 ½ Winning playerswere Mark Ellis 5&4; Pete Aslett 5&3 andLawrence Whitney 2 Up, gaining halves were Mark DuPlessis & Chris Williams.

Central Sevens Golf LeagueDivision 3: Kirtlington Green were away to CherwellEdge on Sunday losing 6-1 win. The winning player forKirtlington was Richard Carr 4&2.

Midweek Medal 

In the Gent’s Midweek Medalon Wednesday, this was won with excellent score byEddie Birney posting a Nett 62! 2nd - Simon SaxtonNett 65, 3rd - Graham Fullagar Nett 66 (CB). LowestGross - Brett Moggridge 74. 

FaldoSeries England Girls

Well done to Izy Edwards whofinished 8th at Trentham Golf Club in the last girlsFaldo Series event of the year.

Also well-done to 7 year oldmember Harley Dixon who won the lowest gross andlowest nett in the 9 hole Burford Junior OpenChampionship last Saturday playing off the yellowtees!

Seniors August Medal

On Thursday 30th August a totalof 56 seniors took part in the monthly medal.Glen Marshall again posted the lowest gross scoreof 74 (nett 67) meaning he has virtually sown up thebest 5 in 7 scores competition. However he was beatenin the Division 1 by Steve Beahan who posted a nett66. In Division 2 Peter Dunn won with a nett 67. Fullresults were: -

Division 1: 1st SteveBeahan 77 – 11 66, 2nd – Glen Marshall 74 – 767 (cb), 3rd – John Carr 83 - 16 67

Division 2: 1st – PeterDunn 95 – 28 67, 2nd – Steve Dolton 91 –23 68, 3rd –Paul Wilkinson 99 – 30 69 (cb)

Seniors Match

KirtlingtonSenior Team produced arguably their best performanceof the season defeating Studley Wood at Studley 3.5 –2.5. This was the first time Kirtlington had defeatedStudley on their home turf. It was a very close matchwith 3 matches going to the 18th hole, Stuart/GerryShaw won the captains match 1 up, Pete Milton/RoySmith won 2 up, whilst Tony Bastable/ Brian Palmershared the last for a half. With losses to GeoffSmailes/Laurie Bryant 6 and 5 and Jim Darch/Ian Taylor3 and 2 it was left to the final match of DavidMusson/Clarrie Haynes to ensure victory 5 and 4.
