Seniors Match On Monday, 30 September, the Seniors played their last match of the year against Silverstone at Kirtlington. Earlier in the year, the two teams had shared the spoils and it was perhaps fitting that the result was the same 3 - 3 draw. In the captains’ match, David Musson/Clarrie Haynes won three of the last four holes to halve their match, a result which was matched by Roy Smith/Bill Brown. Kirtlington winners were Graham Fullagar/Pete Milton and Tony Bastable/Eric Blincoe, both winning 3&1. In the other games, Ian Gordon/Paul Craddock lost 4&2 and John Duffin/Bill Keys lost 3&2. The season can be rightly called a 50/50 one in that the Senior record is P 23 W 10 D3 L10. In addition, in the individual games, the record is W 117, L 117 H 42. Nearly 40 Seniors played for the team and the season passed with few hiccups thanks to the organising skills of the captain David Musson.
Finally, a big thank to Nick and John in the Kitchen and to Lydia, Charlotte, Amanda and the excellent serving team who looked after us and the opposition in an exemplary manner.
