End of year 9-hole challenge

On Sunday, 29 December, we ran an end of year 9-hole challenge. This was a Stableford 9-hole handicap qualifier on the front 9 of the Main Course. In total, we had an incredible 59 players take part with a three-way tie on 21 points.

Top three all receiving pro shop vouchers and a Sleeve of the Titleist Tour Soft golf balls:

First place - Richard Kershaw (£50 vouchers) - 21 points (CB).
Second place - Steve Booker - 21 points (CB).
Third place - Chris Williams - 21 points.
Fourth place - James Ward - 20 points.
Fifth place - Steve Dolton - 19 points.

Weekend Medal

In the first weekend Medal of 2020, there were 90 players that took part. The overall winner was Michael Phillington with a nett 67, just ahead on countback of Andy Gardiner who also posted the lowest gross score of 71 over the weekend.

Top three in each division were:

Division one: First - Andy Gardiner nett 67; Second Lawrence Whitney nett 68 (CB); Third Anton Vircavs nett 68.
Division two: First - Michael Phillington nett 67; Second Andy Enser nett 70; Third Daniel Leggett nett 70.
Division three: First - Les Holmes nett 68; 2nd Frank Partlett Net 70 (CB) 3rd Steve Lomas nett 70.

9-hole Winter Challenge

Due to the wet weather, the Junior Shield on Saturday, 21 December was cancelled and will be re-arranged.

Instead, we ran a first 9-hole Winter Challenge for our Juniors on the front 9 of the Main Course. Five players took part with some outstanding scores.

In first place was Beau Spencer with 21 points just ahead of George Slater on 20 points including an eagle two on the 8th hole!

On the noticeboard is the entry sheet for the roll-up team waltz on Thursday, 16 January. The draw will take place at 8:45am.

Also on the notice board is the start sheet for the January Medal on Thursday, 23 January.

EG Medal

In the ladies EG Medal on Tuesday, seven players took part (CSS 76). In first place was Izy Edwards with a nett 77, in second place was Linda Breaker with a nett 84 and in third place was Tracey Russell with a nett 85 (CB).

A bag for life
