Competition news

Upcoming 9-Hole Winter Challenge - Monday, 17 February 2020

Individual 9-Hole Stableford Competition - played on Main Course Front-9.

Handicap Qualifier Open to Men, Ladies and Juniors.

Maximum Handicap Allowance 36.

(Refer to Handicap Conversion Table for Stroke allowance).

Book your own tee times (pay on the day).

£2.50 entry (plus optional £1 for birdies).

Pro shop voucher prizes for top 3*

*Voucher prizes subject to field size.

Gent's competition news

A bright but blustery day saw a field of 38 players in the Midweek Stableford, conditions were once again tricky with the CSS coming in at 35 points. The winner with a great round of 40 points was Adam Leggett finishing one ahead of Sean Glynn on 39 points and in third on countback was Danny Roberts on 36 points.

Twos competition rollover for this weekend’s Gents Stableford on Saturday, 15 and Sunday, 16 February.

Ladies' news

Ladies' Stableford

In the Ladies' Stableford on Tuesday, 4 February, sixteen players took part (CSS 33 points). Top three were:

1st Angela Marshall 31 points, 2nd Glynis Weston 29 points, 3rd Jane Whitlock 28 points.

Senior's news

Stableford - Thursday, 6 February

With improving weather and course conditions there were a greater number of Seniors playing in the monthly Stableford on Thursday, 6 February. The best scores were in Division two where Chris McNulty and Peter Enock both posted 39 points with Chris winning on countback.

In Division one there was also a tie at the top with three players each scoring 37 points. Bill Keys won the division on countback from Rob Bruce and Paul Wilkinson. Full results were:

Division one - 1st Bill Keys 37 points (CB), 2nd Rob Bruce 37 points (CB), 3rd Paul Wilkinson 37 points.
Division two - 1st Chris McNulty 39 points (CB), 2nd Peter Enock 37 points, 3rdGraham Woods 34 pts (CB).

Senior's Dinner

The Annual Dinner for the Seniors takes place on Friday, 20 March. Clarrie would like to remind people that those wishing to pay by BACs that the details are found on the notice by the sign-up sheet.

There is also details of the Account for those who wish to pay by cheque. Cheques and Cash payments for the dinner should be placed in an envelope, marked FAO Clarrie Haynes and given to reception.

The BB&O 2020 County Card Scheme

The County Card provides the opportunity to play more than 1300 golf clubs who offer special rates throughout the country - click here to learn more.

The county card scheme is changing:

We have made the decision to offer County Cards FREE of charge to all participating club members for 2020 (there is a small charge for post and packing of £1.90). The new cards will run from Saturday, 1 February 2020 to Sunday, 31 January 2021.

Please allow 7-10 days for receipt of your card.
