Winter Open Series 5

In the Winter Open Series 5 at the weekend, 78 players took part (58 members and 20 visitors). Weather conditions were once again very testing, the CSS was 37 points on Saturday and 36 points on Sunday. In the member’s section, this was won by Oliver Black on countback with 42 points.

The top five were:

• First place - Oliver Black - 42 points CB (Lowest Day 2 Score).
  
• Second place - Gary Quainton - 42 points (Lowest Day 1 Score).
  
• Third place - James Wilson - 40 points CB.
  
• Fourth place - Anthony Lamb - 40 points.
  
• Fifth place - Steve Dolton - 38 points.
  

Amongst the 20 visitors, there were players from Bicester, Gathurst (Liverpool) Manor Golf Club (Staffordshire), Oxford, Puckrup Hall (Tewkesbury) Silverstone, Sherdons Golf Centre (Tewkesbury) and Studley Wood.

Top two in the visitor's section were:

• First place - Neil Edwards - 41 points (Puckrup Hall). 
  
• Second place - Neil Firth - 39 points (Studley Wood).
  

In the Order of Merit with just one open remaining the top five are as follows:

• First place - Steve Dolton - 141 points.
  
• First place - James Wilson - 141 points.
  
• Third place - Sean Glynn - 140 points.
  
• Third place - Anthony Lamb - 140 points. 
  
• Fifth place - Dave Powell - 136 points.
  
• Fifth place - Giulio Viglieno - 136 points.
