We are still open here at the golf club and will continue to meet the needs of members and visitors of the golf club. We have put in place some extra measures to ensure everyone’s health and safety, following the governments advice and guidelines. These updates may change again depending on information provided from the government, we will keep you updated on any changes. There are procedures in place to accommodate golfers who would like to play golf but due to personal reasons do not wish to enter the clubhouse. Exercise has been advised by the government and as golf is a non contact sport out in the open air, with plenty of room and scope for social distancing whilst enjoying your game, what better way to exercise. We would urge you all take extra care while using the club and follow the instructions of the World Health Organisation and the Government as to whether you should attend or not. It is currently not up to us as a club to stop you. Our duty as a club is not only towards you as members but also to our teams. Please respect the restrictions put in place and the team that are having to monitor these for your safety. The Golf Courses and Practice Areas: - Avoid removing the flagsticks where possible. We will be leaving the flags in on the courses this weekend but this may change from next week.
- Bunker Rakes have been removed from the courses, please use your club to smooth the sand as best you can. We will try to dedicate more staff time to raking bunkers but this may not always be possible so please understand if the bunkers are not at the standard you would normally expect during this time.
- Please do not use the ball washers.
- Forget about the 18th-green handshake, at least for now. Why not start a new tradition foot taps or thumbs up, golfers can show their respect for the game and fellow players a different way?
- On-course toilets have extra cleaning and sanitising procedures in place.
- Golfers can change their shoes in the car park instead of using the changing rooms.
- Range Tokens will be sterilised after use, baskets and balls cleaned.
- All flagsticks have been removed from the putting green.
- Andy Taylor is available for coaching and can provide lessons outside on the practice areas or on course lessons if you would prefer this to the indoor range lessons.
The Clubhouse - Whilst the clubhouse is still open, we ask that you maintain the social distancing guidelines. The conference room has been opened as a lounge as well so that people can spread out easily. We may also limit or cap the number of people allowed in at any one given time or ask golfers to move to another area of the clubhouse to avoid close contact.
- Please make all payments contactless where possible.
- Scorecards are available outside the building along with outdoor registration.
- The Scorecard box is outside the front door for any competition cards.
- A take away service for food and drink is available on the golf course or after your round.
- Touching an infected surface does not give you COVID-19. Touching an infected surface and then immediately touching your face is the problem. The virus travels through the viral droplets from a sneeze or cough and gets in your cells through the nose, ears and mouth. So please, if you have it use sanitiser and the most important thing wash your hands on a regular basis.
- Please remember we also go live with the online booking for members and visitors next week which will enable us to take payments online. An important tool during this difficult time.
Golf clubs remain (with care) as close to a "safe haven" as exists, away from this exceptionally tough set of circumstances. We value your membership and custom and take these measures seriously to allow you to remain active at your club.
