Mixed Greensome Pairs Open

On another scorching hot day last Friday, we held the Mixed Greensome Pairs Open with 20 teams taking part. The top three in each of the sections plus the nearest the pin prizes were as follows:

Merv Hunt Memorial - Sunday, 9 August

An incredible field of 118 players took part in the Merv Hunt Memorial and it was a top three made up of all ladies posting some excellent scores.

Top three (CSS 69/73):

1st Maggy Day (28) 43 points.
2nd Sophie Grimshaw (29) 42 points (CB).
3rd Tracey Russell (29) 42 points.

Summer Open Series warming up!

Summer Series 3 - Friday, 7 August (CSS 68/72). Field of 49 players (42 members and 7 visitors). Well done to Adam Leggett scoring a magnificent 45 points to win series 3. Top 5 in the Members section all receiving pro shop vouchers (1st £75, 2nd £50, 3rd £35, 4th £25 and 5th £15).

In the Order of Merit Best 3 out of 6 rounds, this is now all to play for as we go into the final two competitions on Friday, 11 and Saturday, 12 September. As it stands, for this we will be paying out pro shop voucher prizes for the top 8 players!

Senior's Stableford - Thursday, 6 August (CSS 68)

Field of 73 players. The overall winner with a magnificent 47 Points was Tony Whitlock – great shooting!

Think you're not good enough to be fitted?

The number of golfers who have not been fitted for their irons is far higher than it should be. We often hear golfers say they’re not good enough to get custom fitted, but we are here to dispel that myth and explain why getting fitted WILL improve your iron play.

Consistency is critical in your iron play and being fitted for your irons will give you this, plus improve your accuracy and make any errors less extreme.

There are so many factors that influence our ability to strike the ball better and hit the ball where we want it to go. One thing you may not have tried before is Callaway’s Mavrik irons, which feature a Standard, Max and Pro model within the range.
