Great peace of mind for all our Members!

Did you know that as a member of an England Golf affiliated golf club, you are provided with personal liability insurance? Since 1 July 2019, every member has been provided with £10m personal liability insurance as part of their affiliation to England Golf.

Working alongside specialist insurance broker Bluefin Sport, England Golf have ensured peace of mind for members of affiliated golf clubs when playing your rounds.

As an individual member, you are covered for personal liability in the event that you are found to be negligent for causing injury to another person or damage to third party property whilst playing or practising golf at any golf club or recognised practice facility in the UK, Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man.
There is no excess in respect of personal injury claims, and just a £500 excess in respect of damage to third party property.

Helping you during lockdown 3.0

This week’s drill is all about improving your strike when putting. With such a small stroke – in comparison to a full swing – it’s easy to think that you can’t go wrong when putting.

Well, give this drill a try and see how you get on.

What to do

Measure a ball’s width on the centre of your putter face and place a piece of blu-tack either side, as depicted in the image above. Set up a 10-foot putt in your home or garden and hit a few putts – if your strike is off-centre you’ll certainly feel and see a difference!

Striking the Blu-Tack?

If your ball hardly moves or you barely feel yourself striking the ball at impact, chances are you’ve hit a piece of blu-tack rather than the centre of the putter face. Give this a few tries – as well as from different distances – and see if you can spot a pattern. Let us know how you get on.

Measure & conquer the course

A lot of things can go wrong in a golf shot and lots stem from the pre-shot routine. Figuring out how far it is to the hole, followed by which club to use, can be tricky. Getting it wrong can mean the shot is doomed before you’ve even swung the club. In the not-too-distant past, this was an issue. Now? Not so much. We have solutions in the form of Garmin GPS devices.
