Struggling with your long irons?

It can be perfectly understandable to find yourself struggling with a specific area of your golf game. Perhaps you find it hard to land a fairway off the tee, or you feel like you walk off every green having made a 3-putt, but how do you feel about your approach shots, and in particular playing with your long irons?

Long irons can be notoriously difficult to strike. With a lower loft and longer shaft when compared to your scoring irons, long irons require a more precise swing in order for you to make good contact with the ball.

Have you tried a golf hybrid?

An excellent alternative to longer irons is hybrids. These clubs pack all the best of both worlds into one handy package. They give you some good solid distance while being shorter and nimbler than fairway woods, resulting in a club that feels very easy and natural to swing through the ball with.

Hybrids also have larger clubheads than long irons that not only pack more punch when you strike the ball, but give you a greater sense of confidence when you’re standing over the ball.

Another reason that makes a golf hybrid such a strong club to add to the bag is the sheer degree of versatility it brings you. You can take it off the tee if your big focus is to land on the fairway on a tricky tee shot, you can use it to approach the green, and you can bump your ball onto the green if you’ve been caught in a thick patch of greenside rough.

If you’ve never played with a golf hybrid club and you’re considering having a go with one, we have the very best hybrids from Cleveland waiting for you in the pro shop…

The Launcher Halo XL hybrid has a sleek black aesthetic with silver accents throughout. When you turn the club over, you’ll notice the three prominent Gliderails on the sole. Cleveland’s GlideRail tech allows you to punch through the ball with ease regardless of turf, helping you to escape the rough should you find yourself away from the fairway. This is overall a solid club and a lot of fun to play with.

Sitting between a hybrid and a fairway wood, this club has a large clubhead with a shorter, more maneuverable shaft. This club also features Cleveland’s GlideRails and has a low-and-deep weighting profile in the clubhead to give you effortless distance on your strikes. There’s even an 8g weight in the shaft to make your swings feel free and even as you guide your club through the ball.
