Tuesday 2nd September: Seniors Match v Oxford City (Home)
After a very good run of victories in our home games, it was time for a reality check when playing Oxford City, with the latter handing out a heavy home defeat by 5 matches to 1. The sole winning pair for Kirtlington were David Grimshaw & Garry Winthrop (3 & 2).
As a consolation, the nearest the pin prize on the 16th hole was at least won by a Kirtlington player - Larry "3 foot" Blackwell.

Thursday 28th August: Seniors Medal
In this month's medal, the weather was mostly dry, but some showers came in for afternoon players.
However, the rain has been welcome as the course needs it and the greens were playing better than they had been after the greens work which took place last week.
This month we had 56 players teeing it up with 33 in division one and 23 in division 2.
There was some excellent scoring, though with nine players under par (nett). However, the overall winner with a great nett par score of 63 was Allan Thomas. Well done Allan.
The top six in each division were as follows:
Division One: 1st - Allan Thomas (nett 63), 2nd - Reg Mitchell (nett 65), 3rd - John Dixon (nett 65), 4th - Cliff Moss (nett 68), 5th - Denis Gaiger (nett 69), 6th - David Grimshaw (nett 70).
Division Two: 1st - Andew Weale (nett 67), 2nd - Larry Blackwell (nett 68), 3rd - Stephen Hewer (nett 69), 4th - Roy Smith (nett 69), 5th - Stuart Weston (nett 70), 6th - Malcolm Shead (nett 71).
The best gross score of the day was returned by Clive Dickenson with a 75.
In the Two's competition, we had 4 players scoring as follows:
Colin Hudson, Graham Shirley, Allan Thomas and Andrew Weale.
Tuesday 26th August: Seniors Match v Bicester (Home)
Today we welcomed our local rivals Bicester and all the matches were tight but end result was a comfortable victory for the Kirtlington team 4.5 to 1.5.
The winning pairs were Tony Bastable & Denis Gaiger, Mike Chamberlain & Andy Godber, Phil Sore & David Knapton and Kevin Kavanagh & Simon Saxton with halved match coming from Andy Scholey & Nigel Wright.
In closing out his match on the 16th, Mike Chamberlain also secured the bottle of wine for nearest the pin.
Within the Kirtlington team, there was a good representation of ex-Bicester players, which added a certain something to the competitive edge. But it was a great fun match played in an excellent spirit.
